Helianthus annuus ‘Teddy Bear’

Fluffy and bright yellow, hence its name ‘Teddy Bear’.  Grown by my daughter, this sunflower was a delight in the garden with multiple flower heads throughout the summer.  We left the plants in situ throughout the autumn and winter, as the birds absolutely loved the end product and devoured the seeds.

Dutch impressionist Vincent van Gogh was obsessed with sunflowers, and it is thought that Helianthus annuus ‘Teddy Bear’ was the subject of his many paintings.
