Fritillaria meleagris ‘Alba’
Snake’s Head Fritillary are one of my favourite spring flowers. Appearing from beneath the grass, their graceful nodding bell-shaped heads, usually in a chequered purple colour, are always a welcome sight. These white fritillarias were planted by my mother 25 years ago, and are now scattered throughout the orchard.
A favourite black and white image, I love the leaf structure as well as the flower head gently bowing down.
