Tulipa ‘Green Wave’
Tulipa ‘Green Wave’ belongs to the group of tulips named the parrot tulip. Documented in old drawings and paintings, they have been around a while.
The peculiar and rather intriguing shape of their seemingly ‘feathered’ petals is due to a lack of genetic control, a result of infection from the mosaic virus. In response to either fighting off the virus or simply adapting to its influence, the flowers have forever changed their appearance into the flamboyant artful beauties that I love.
